Study On Yunnan Dali's Eaves Tile

Dali as one of the earliest cradles of Yunnan,its eaves tile should be one of the most valuable type because of the history and culture,geographical environment and the special national culture,however,theoretical research about it is far from enough in academia,its methods are usually from single historical,archaeological or artistic point of view,but I believe that its analysis should not be limited to a single subject,from a variety of angles cross its analysis is more abundant and comprehensive.This dissertation will start analyzes from the unearthed and remaining Dali eaves tile,analyze the composition,sculpture,composition,subject matter and pattern of artwork by means of art,combined the literature with material object,using iconography methods,restore it to the historical scene,cultural thought and people's general psychological thoughts,then analyze the society style and religious thought.Influenced by historical development and geographical environment,Dali eaves tile has its unique style,There has not only normal pattern like plants,flowers,auspicious meaning,but also special pattern like Buddhist,Taoist,Yin-yang and five element thought,Sanskrit seed words and so on,the form of composition is also different from the Central Plains region,it is less limited by rules,more changeable,more creative.These unique eaves tile contains different kinds of religious belief,the Bai nationality belief,auspicious concept and water-worship thought.This dissertation also analyzes the practical application and case of eaves tile in different design field,summarizes the meaning and method of eaves tile in contemporary design field,discusses how the art of Dali eaves tile is applied to The feasibility of the contemporary,so that when we accept foreign culture,we can establish a unique geographical culture and awareness of national culture,which does not lose our benign development of national characteristics.
