The dialect of Southeast Hubei belongs to Gan dialect.According to the Chinese Language Atlas(1987),the area includes nine counties and dialects, and Chibi dialect is one of them. The phonetic research in Chibi dialect began in the Hubei dialect survey conducted by Zhao Yuanren in 1936.The results of this survey are mainly reflected in the Hubei dialect survey report(1948).Because of its marginal and transitional characteristics,Chibi dialect has always been concerned by the academic circles since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In the middle of twentieth Century, the climax of Chibi dialect research emerged. In recent years, there have been few researches on the phonetics of Chibi dialect, and there is no discussion on its phonetic changes. This paper makes a survey of the phonetic system in modern Chibi dialect, makes out the phonology of Chibi dialect, compares Chibi dialect with the phonology of Mandarin and Guang Yun,analyzes the characteristics of the dialect of Chibi, and probes into the phenomena of "colloquial and literary readings" and "Chibi Putonghua",and discusses the evolution law of speech in combination with the achievements of the past research. And why.In the first chapter, the second chapter and the third chapter, the consonant, vowel and tone system of Chibi dialect are arranged and described respectively. The fourth chapter analyzes the characteristics of the sound, rhyme and tone system of Chibi dialect, and analyses the phonetic phenomena of light sound, literary and colloquial reading, and "Chibi Putonghua".The fifth chapter discusses the changes in Chibi dialect in the past eighty years based on the results of previous studies. In the case of the initials, the ancient turbid consonants turn back to the air turbid sound, and the emergence of the Z is believed to be the result of the popularization of Mandarin;the vowel OE has changed into or,ai changed into ie,a changed into an,and A changed into an,which may have two reasons:the influence of Mandarin and the function of the economical principle of language. The sixth chapter is the homophone table of Chibi dialect, and collects the homophone table through the dialect investigation, which reflects the sound, rhyme, tone system and the collocation of the Chibi dialect.
