Preliminary Study On The Logic Connective Explicitation Differences Of Interpreters In Chinese-English Consecutive Interpretation

Since China has more and more exchanges and cooperation with the international community,Chinese-English consecutive interpretation has been widely used.Due to differences between Chinese and English,interpreters usually handle unclear logical relations,incomplete syntactic structures and fragmented sentences through explicitation.The author conducted quantitative and qualitative researches to analyze the logical connectives of six interpreters in Chinese-English consecutive interpretation experiment,then compares them with the source language in a sentence-by-sentence way to study and analyze logical connective frequency such as casual,adversative and conditional relations.The results show that interpreters usually add casual logical connectives to achieve explicitation and students who have accepted one-year consecutive interpretation training do better than those with half-year training experience.
