Based on the history of Chinese language education in the world,this thesis systematically combs and studies Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality in the history of Chinese language education in the Meiji period(1868-1911)of Japan.This paper aims to promote the teaching of Chinese language today through the study of Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality and the study of the history of modern Chinese language education in Japan.The Chinese language is regarded as a practical "special foreign language" in Japan especially in Meiji period,which is gradually formed on the basis of aggression and expansion to China.The history of Chinese language education in Meiji period is actually a history of Sino Japanese relations.Compared with Chinese language textbooks in China,Japan,Korea and Russia,Chinese language textbooks of Japan in the Meiji period that Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality participated in were highly advanced in Phonetic tagging,grammar selection,oral materials.Undoubtedly,the key to the success of Chinese language textbooks in Japan is the historical contribution of Chinese teachers from China.Based on this topic,this paper tries to find out the historical contribution of the teachers of Chinese nationality through sorting out and analyzing a lot of raw materials so as to show the development of Japanese language education in the Meiji period and to excavate its language awareness and second language teaching consciousness.This paper is composed of the following several parts.The introduction part includes the background,significance and methods of the study on Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality in the Meiji period as well as the history and current situationof this topic.The first chapter is about modern Chinese language education in Japan and Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality.Specifically speaking,it is about the background of the development of modern Chinese language education in Japan and the classification of Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality.The second chapter is about the relationship between Chinese teachers of Chinese nationality and the generation of classical Chinese language textbooks in Japan.The third chapter is about the historical contribution of Chinese teachers to the development of Chinese language education in Japan.By comparing with the Chinese language textbooks in Japan,China,Korea and Russia over the same period,it is concluded that Chinese teachers from China have made a historical contribution to the development of Chinese language textbooks in phonetic tagging system,the selection of oral materials and the grammatical system.
