Acculturation theory is put forward by scholar Schumann in the 1970 s,the theory is of great significance in the field of second language acquisition between language and culture.Though the theory has some disputes,the author thinks that the social distance and psychological distance on the impact of language acquisition which was proposed by Schuman's acculturation theory has important guiding significance for today's foreign students Chinese acquisition,the research content of this paper is based on Schumann's acculturation theory.The author will make a simple statement of acculturation theory from numerous works,and present its social distance and psychological distance with forms.At the same time,the author analyses the missionary activities of missionaries in Ming and Qing dynasties under the guidance of Schumann's acculturation theory.Meanwhile,the author clarifies the policies of acculturation theory of missionaries in Ming and Qing dynasties,understand the preachers study Chinese,merge and replenish Confucianism,change costume,specialize church etiquette to shorten the social distance and psychological distance with Chinese to carry out the policies of the acculturation theory,and the article will focus on this part as well.The process of missionaries' Chinese acquisition and the similarities in today's foreign student and missionaries in Ming and Qing dynasties have important implications for foreign students' Chinese acquisition.With Chinese economic rising,more and more students came to China to learn Chinese and know Chinese culture with different learning motivation.The supportive and inseparable relationship between language and culture makes foreign students have to take acculturation to over come the cultural shock,but different students with different adaptive statements.The article makes a researcher on foreign students cultural shock during Chinese acquisition after the study of activities of missionaries in Ming and Qing dynasties,the cultural shock for international students is divided into system culture,culture,material culture and behavior culture four categories according to the scholars of the classification of culture,based on the statistics data to calculate the size of the proportion of each category,and from the perspective of intercultural communication by comparing the method of analysis of four different categories of the root causes of culture shock.Aiming at dealing with the problem of culture shock in Chinese language learners,this paper takes Schumann acculturation theory as theory foundation,and combines with the missionaries Chinese acquisition in Ming and Qing dynasties to give inspiration of today's Chinese international education teachers and offer instructional suggestions for students studying abroad.To teacher's advice are divided into two parts,the classroom teaching and extracurricular acquisition,mainly discuss how to improve teaching methods,Suggestions to students mainly from overcome cultural bias,active integrate Chinese environment.
