Study Of Verocchio's Painting Art

In history,Verrocchio's works have not got much attention,yet many influential artists are Verrocchio's students,such as Sandro Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci.Few researches are conducted about Verrocchio at home,he is mentioned mostly in study on Florence school of painting,and works of Leonardo da Vinci and iconology,publication about Verrocchio is rarely to see.This thesis is based on study of history of culture and art,visual analysis and photography works,and discusses the art event in Verrocchio 's life from three aspects.The first aspect is based on study of history of culture of Florence and the art event in Verrocchio's early time,the second aspect is aesthetic characteristics of works of Verrocchio and his typical controversial works as well as his lifetime and master-apprentice relationship,the third aspect is Verrocchio's influences on students as well as students' works and their technical style.The thesis contains four chapters and analysis of artistic characteristics of Verrocchio's works from various perspectives,with consideration of other factors,such as works of similar style and apprentice in workshop;the linked study mechanism is formed through studying these factors respectively.Chapter one introduces study ideas,thoughts and structure.Chapter two makes a study Verrocchio 's lifetime and the artistic surroundings,analyzes the artistic development of Verrocchio.Chapter three studies the theme of Verrocchio's works and analyzes some works in details;characteristics of Verrocchio 's works in different times and analysis of other works are made from style and creativity,and at the same time,the combination between art theory stated by contemporary artists and science is discussed.Chapter four analyzes Verrocchio 's influences on apprentice,and works made in workshop by his famous students Sandro Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci,influences on these two students by teaching thoughts and connection with Verrocchio's style.This thesis concludes that most of study on art by Verrocchio is based on painting and architecture,he has positive effects on Renaissance in its prime time,including cultivating outstanding artists and technical creativity,and all of these is a witness to the artistic value of Verrocchio.
