Analysis On The Artistic Features Of Nikolai Fechin’s Painting And Its Influence On My Oil Painting Study And Creation

Nikolai Fechin is a unique artist in the history of Russian art,whose painting style is extremely personal.His paintings are based on traditional Russian aesthetics and a unique sense of subjective expression,whether in large-scale figurative scenes or in small scale portraits,all of which illustrate the uniqueness of Fechin’s artistic language.At that time,Fechin’s deep understanding the essence of the realist creation and his affectionate expression of humanism made the mundane people and life become artistic.This article focuses on Fechin’s artistic characteristics of painting,and elaborates on Fechin’s regional cultural situation and living experience,through analysis of the five aspects of Fechin’s artistic language,such as realistic and fictional picture composition,vivid and vibrant use of colour,unrestrained brushwork,individual skills and pursuit of aesthetic values,it further elucidates Fechin’s artistic characteristics of painting.By exploring and learning from Fechin’s artistic characteristics,further summarizes the influence and inspiration of Fechin’s humanistic expression for emotion and unique painting techniques on my oil painting studies and graduation project.
