| Under the impetus of globalization,cultural exchanges among countries are becoming more frequent,and desires to understand China are becoming constantly increasing.At the same time,China's comprehensive national strength and influence have risen by a big margin.Chinese nations need to introduce our excellent culture and science to the world so as to promote exchanges and integration among countries in the world.As a result,the translation of Chinese original texts covering Chinese traditional culture,economic exchange,political policy and history of science and technology becomes increasingly important.In particular,studies on the history of science and technology in China have been well-developed,but few English translations are available.Therefore,it has become an increasingly significant task for Chinese translation agencies and translators presenting China's history of science and technology to the world,which also becomes an emphasis for them.The report is based on the excerpts from Visible History of Science and Technology in China,which mainly introduces the history of science and technology in China for 5,000 years with simple words.And it is easy to understand.The report is based on Newmark's communicative translation theory.He believes that the translator needs to use the target text to express the same effect as the source language and try to get rid of reading or communicating obstacles,so that communication can proceed smoothly in communicative translation.In this paper,the author analyzes the lexical and syntactic translations respectively based on the communicative translation theory,searches the common translation strategies and methods in this text,summarizes the experiences,which aims to provide a template for the translation of other related history of science and technology and to provide parallel texts that can be used for future translation of history of science and technology.In addition,it also wants to make a little contribution to the cause of translation. |
