Science And Technology Text Interpreting Under The Guidance Of Communicative Translation Theory

Recent years,with more and more researches on computers and artificial intelligence,advancing English literatures and documents receive tremendous attention worldwide in the field of science and technology.Meanwhile,the work of writing English of Science and Technology(EST)Texts begins to gain popularity.Moreover,the sources of English literatures and documents become more diversified and more contents from different subjects are increasingly involved,which result in diversified features in EST Texts.English of EST Texts serve to spread information,express ideas;this type of texts aims to describe the objective phenomenon and rules in the real and natural world for the purpose of spreading knowledge.Considering that Newmark's Communicative Translation and Semantic Translation theories are of high value to English of Science and Technology(EST)Texts translation,this paper would analyze interpreting materials from WMT 17,the Second Conference on Machine Translation,from the perspective of translation challenges,such as the tone,translation strategies and interpreter's role in the process of interpreting.In the analysis of EST Texts and the translation,we can see that the semantic translation is to facilitate us to further understand the inner meaning of sentences and texts,the logic and maintain the style of the original texts.As for communicative translation,to some degrees,is to unchain the interpreter to get rid of the form of source language and show the style of source texts in another form.Based on this,Newmark's Communicative Translation and Semantic Translation theories can be seen as interdependent.When translating English of EST Texts into Chinese,Newmark's Communicative Translation and Semantic Translation theories play a practical role in maintaining the original style and promoting the purpose of communication.
