From The Climate Change To Study From Han Dynasty To Tang Dynasty Cultural Center Shift

There is a distinct correspondence between the climatic changes and the gravity of Chinese culture center in our Chinese ancient times.Through the historical materials refer to the climatic changes in China,we can see that the changes of temperature from the period of two Han dynasties to Sui and Tang dynasties in Chinese central and eastern regions develops a U-shaped pattern.The climates were warm in the period of Western Han,Sui and Tang dynasties,the boundary of subtropical zone shifted to Yellow River basin from the south in those dynasties.The period of Eastern Han and Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern dynasties were two cold climate periods,the temperature at that time was cooling,the boundary of subtropical zone shifted from the north to Jianghuai region,even to Yangtze River basin.The movement of the boundary of subtropical zone not only affected the distribution of plants and animals in nature,but also affected the human society in some ways.The thesis makes the population of each period,the number of counties and the population growth of famous people as the criterion of judgement of Chinese culture center.During the warm periods,Yellow River basin was regarded as Chinese culture center because of the prosperity of economy and prosperous culture.However,damaged by natural disasters and wars,the population and the amounts of families declined steadily in Yellow River basin.In contrast,dueing to the improvement of natural environment in Jianghuai region or in Yangtze River basin,the increasing of the number of immigrants and birth rate,the population there increased rapidly.This kind of situation prompted the culture developed greatly,celebrities appeared in large numbers and the boundary of subtropical zone began to shift to the south.The thesis tries to probe into the relationship between the movement of the boundary of subtropical zone and the distributions of culture center,and points out the correspondence between Chinese culture center and the north boundary of subtropical zone.To enrich the content about climatic changes and human society,this thesis tries to study the relationship between human being and environment in a new way.
