The overseas Chinese teaching material of Qing Dynasty is an important material for the study of Beijing Mandarin in the late Qing Dynasty.This paper selects the Chinese textbook of Meiji period “Japanese-Qing business conversation of Beijing Mandarin”.“Japanese-Qing business conversation of Beijing Mandarin” is a textbook for Japanese doing business in China to study Beijing Mandarin.It uses Japanese katakana to mark the pronunciation of Beijing Mandarin at that time.Through the analysis of its phonetic system,we can understand the characteristics of Beijing Mandarin at the beginning of the 20 th century.Exploring the Development rules of Modern Chinese Putonghua based on Beijing Phonetics Compared with other Beijing Mandarin textbooks of the same period,it can more accurately and objectively show the general picture of the phonetic system at that time.The full text is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction.It mainly explains the background and the intention of “Japanese-Qing business conversation of Beijing Mandarin”,and introduces the author and the main contents of the textbook.So that readers have a general understanding of the book.Then the significance of this topic,research status,research methods and ideas are described.The second part focuses on the first,second,third and fourth chapters.This part gives a detailed description and analysis of the phonetic system of “Japanese-Qing business conversation of Beijing Mandarin”.The phonetic mother and tone system are used to discuss the track and rule of phonetic development.The third part is the fifth chapter,in contrast to other important Beijing Mandarin textbooks in the same period,this paper discusses the description and analysis of the different nationalities in the same time and the author of the same nationality in Beijing Mandarin.The last part is the conclusion part.This text carries on the overall appraisal to the textbook,simultaneously carries on the summary to this article's inadequacies.
