Translation is actually a cross-language transplanting of information.In the practice of translating,how to deal with the cultural information in different languages is a common problem faced by the majority of translators.As we all know,differences exist among languages when translators deal with cultural information.When translators deal with cultural information,the loss of translation information is unavoidable to some extent.Therefore,various means of compensation are necessary.Ma Hongjun proposed a more macro view of compensation types according to compensation position:explicit compensation and implicit compensation.In this paper,the reporter apply compensation strategies to this translation practice.This report mainly includes five parts.The first part gives a brief introduction to Cormac McCarthy and his drama The Stonemason the importance of this translation project.And the author of this report selects the "Translator Behavior Criticism" theory which was proposed by Professor Zhou Lingshun.The second part presents the translation process,including the preparation before translation task and proofreading before translation.The third part is mainly theoretical framework.In this part,the author himself studied a lot compensation strategies and classifications.The fourth part is mainly about the case study.The author himself lists a series of samples.The last part is conclusion,which consists of the summary of the whole report,advantages and shortcomings.
