In the history of Western vocal music,the status of German and Austrian art songs has always been unshakable.The vigorous music genre during this period of romanticism has been favored by musicians of the 19th century.Although the British art songs started relatively late and had many ups and downs during the course of their development,British musicians have never forgotten the solid foundation of their own nation in literature.With the unique temperament of the "British island nation",the British musicians have shown the world Its unique artistic song.Edward Benjamin Britten(1913-1976),the most talented musician in the United Kingdom in the twentieth century after Purcell,had an extraordinary talent for music since he was young.He is a composers,conductors,pianist who has a number of titles in his genre and has a wide range of creative genres,including numerous productions throughout his life,including opera,chapel fables,orchestral,choral,solo and piano/guitar/harp,chamber music,film and theater scores and more fantastic.The creation of vocal works runs through the life of Britten.However,his creation of artistic songs also has its own unique features and artistic values.He has authored artistic songs with orchestras,pianos,harps and guitars for the West in the 20th century.The history of art songs adds a touch of excellence.The song cycle "Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo"(op.22),was written by Britten in the 1940s in the United States and received a great deal of artistic value as soon as it debuted.This poem melts the perfect combination of poetry and music.Through the study of this work,this thesis tries to explore the musical style and the spiritual connotation infused by Britten in his early works and presents it with concrete examples of music analysis.This thesis takes the song cycle suite "seven sonnets of Michelangelo" as the starting point and conducts research according to the musicological analysis method.It is divided into three parts:introduction,text and conclusion.The main content of the introduction is to explain the origin of this topic,the research status at home and abroad,the purpose and significance of the research.The text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter introduces the general situation of this set,including Britten's life and creation,the creation of Michelangelo and sonnets,the development of British art songs and Greek myths and paintings,the relationship of poetry.The second chapter carries out the ontology art analysis of this set of music,and interprets it from the literature ontology and the music ontology.In the analysis of poetry texts,the content and theme of poetry,the expression and expression of poetry,and the rhetorical devices are analyzed.In the analysis of music ontology,the analysis of melody,harmony,structure,tone,and piano accompaniment are analyzed.Through the analysis of music and poetry,it analyzes the application of creative techniques and the thoughts and emotions contained there in.The third chapter analyzes the impact of British traditional music,the influence of Britten's environment,and the characteristics and connotation of this work.The conclusion partly combines the background of the times and the aesthetics of music,summarizes the deep artistic connotation and research value of the set of songs.
