Semantic field is a class of words that have some common semantic characteristics through contrast between different words. The words in the same semantic field are interdependent and restricted each other. There are four main relationships among words: synonymy, antisense, upper and lower meaning, whole and part.Based on these four relations, semantic fields can be divided into four categories: Semantic field of synonymy,Semantic field of antisense,Semantic field of upper and lower meaning,Semantic field of whole and part. The theory of semantic field has positive significance in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, taking the students of the Chinese national culture center in Tashkent,Uzbekistan as an example,The feasibility of the semantic field theory is proved by observing the students’ learning and investigation experiments in the cultural center.According to the actual teaching situation in daily teaching,we summarize the strategies of primary vocabulary teaching in Chinese. The experiment proves the validity of the theory. The experimental data proves that these elementary vocabulary teaching strategies can help students memorize new words and enlarge their vocabulary quickly. At the same time, the componential analysis of semantic field theory in how to guide the synonyms and collocation are described in detail. The problems and limitations of the application of semantic field theory in practical teaching are discussed, and the corresponding solutions are provided.
