An Interpreting Practice Report From The Interpretative Theory Perspective

In recent years,the rapid development of China's economy has brought a continuous improvement in the people's material living.The followings are the growing demand from the people for the spiritual living.This objective situation has prompted the modern media industry to produce a number of outstanding cultural products such as television open class.At the same time,the increasing globalization has led to closer links between countries and more frequent communication.It has provided favorable conditions for the export of Chinese culture and the improvement of China's cultural influence.Translation and interpreting will play a very important role in this process.The interpreter selected the first Chinese television youth open class “Voice”(No.153: Li Yanhong: The choice changes the life)as the subject of interpreting practice to study.The guiding theory of the practice is the interpretative theory.The interpretative theory explains and discusses the object of interpreting,the role of interpreting,and the key points in the process of interpreting.It highlights that interpreting should convey communicative meaning instead of a single literal meaning.This theory comes directly from interpreting practice,and it has very important and unique enlightenment for interpreting studies of non-literary.Under the guidance of this theory,the interpreter conducts a detailed analysis of the typical cases in this practice from the perspective of the interpreter and specifically explains how these interpreting strategies help the interpreter to complete different types of interpreting and explains and summarizes the using of different interpreting strategies in the interpreting process.In the process of the interpreting practice,through the analysis and summary of typical cases,the interpreter finds that the interpreter mainly adopted the following interpreting strategies: conversion,addition,deletion,and synthesis.Because of the emphasis on communicative meaning in the interpretative theory,several interpreting strategies adopted by interpreters have found a good theoretical basis and support.Therefore,the interpreter need make full use of own initiative and flexibility to express the meaning in the process of interpreting,so that the interpreter can convey the true meaning of the source language,rather than simply stick to the formal restrictions.Through the analysis of specific cases in this practice report,the interpreter hopes to discuss the effects because of choices and applications of different interpreting strategies in interpreting practice guided by interpretive theory and provide some lessons for the interpreter who chooses similar themes and theories.
