| The thesis is an E-C translation report based on the eco-innovation research report in global industry. In the translation process, the original text is the first chapter of Eco-Innovation in Industry: Enabling Green Growth. The author applies Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory into the translation process.According to different language functions,Newmark divides the text into three types such as expressive, informative and vocative texts.Newmark believes that translators should choose different translation theories when translating different texts so he put up with semantic translation and communicative translation theories.Guided by Peter Newmark’s theory, the author analyzes the problems encountered in the process of translation practice, proposes corresponding translation strategies, and then completes this practice report.During this process, the most difficulties for the translator are the logical relationship between complex sentences and rigorous vocabularies and terminology. It is the most challenges for the translator to correctly deal with these difficulties. The original text of the translation practice belongs to informative text. For such texts, the translator must be faithful to the original text and fully take the targeted reader’s feelings into consideration in the translation process as well.Newmark’s communicative translation theory emphasizes that the translation should have the same effects on targeted readers while reading the translation as the original readers while reading the original text.It is necessary to properly disrupt the syntactic structure of the original text so that the translation can be fully understood by the targeted readers. Therefore, the translator uses strategies like addition, omission, and switching sentence structures. |
