Whitewash:the Disturbing Truth about Cow's Milk and Your Health,written by Joseph Keon,has subverted the traditional notion that milk is good for one's health.It has always been in top 100 best sellers ever since it was published in 2010 by New Society Publishers.This paper analyzes the translation of Chapter Two and Chapter Eight of Whitewash:the Disturbing Truth about Cow's Milk and Your Health based on Peter Newmark's text-type theory from the perspective of informative function,expressive function and vocative function of the text,adopting semantic translation and communicative translation in respective text type,to discuss some translation techniques in the translation of informative type text,aiming to be taken as reference in the type text translation.
