Economic globalization has a strong impact on the development of China‘s local enterprises,making the slowdown of China‘s economy,which needs to be solved by the transformation of local companies.Under this circumstance,the author selected three business articles about the great transformation of GE(the General Eclectic Company)from Harvard Business Review: ?How I Remade GE? by Jeffrey R.Immelt;?GE‘s Global Growth Experiment? by Ranjay Gulati;?Reinventing Talent Management? by Steven Prokesch.All three articles of this report are defined as informative text,based on the text type theory by Peter Newmark.Those articles express ideas with complex sentences,extension of meanings,and business terms,etc.This translation report focuses on those translation obstacles and challenges for delivering a better reading experience and translated articles for readers.Nida‘s translation functional equivalence theory argues that translation ?first in terms of meaning and secondly in terms of style?.And,Huang Zhonglian‘s translation variation theory offered seven translation methods(addition,deletion and edition,etc.)In the process of translation and draft modification,the translator found that there are many translation challenges,such as extension of meaning,imbalance of sentence elements,structure of complex sentences,words order and language expression habit.In this report,the author put forward translation methods for solving those translation challenges with the help of translation theories and methods,illustrating with examples.This translation project verified translation theories and concluded translation problem solutions with real business article translation cases.This essay will give a reference to translators for studying business,economics and management English-Chinese translation.
