Social anxiety refers to individuals who are concerned about their words and deeds in the public or social context,and who are concerned and evaluated by others.They are afraid of ugliness or behavioral distress.Experience tension,worry or fear,even with avoidance.The junior high school students group is in a period of intensification of contradiction in the early years of youth.Relieving their social anxiety is of positive significance both for the junior high school students' current learning and life,or for future personal growth and social adaptation.Therefore,this study aims to understand the current status and characteristics of junior high school students' social anxiety,and explore the feasibility of the dance treatment to relieve junior students' social anxiety.This study mainly includes two parts: The first part is the questionnaire survey of social anxiety of 377 junior high school students in a school in Nanchang using the modified Social Anxiety Scale for Children(SASC)by Xin Ziqiang to analyze and sum up their social anxiety level.Status and characteristics.The second part is based on the status and characteristics of junior high school students' social anxiety and using dance therapy as a technique to design a group counseling program to relieve their social anxiety.In addition,24 first-year students with higher levels of social anxiety were selected as subjects,12 in the experimental group and 12 in the control group,with equal gender.Using the experimental design of the experimental group and the control group before and after the test,the members of the experimental group carried out about 8 weeks of dance treatment group counseling and recorded the whole course.The control group did not interfere.Supplemented with qualitative materials as supplementary explanations,in order to explore and evaluate the methods and effects of relieving junior high school students' social anxiety.The findings are as follows:(1)The overall level of social anxiety of junior high school students is high.(2)The overall level of social anxiety of junior high school students and thelevel of fear of negative evaluation have obvious gender differences.Girls are significantly higher than boys.There are no significant differences between male and female students in the dimension of social avoidance and distress.(3)There was no significant difference in junior high school students' social anxiety level.(4)There was no significant difference in the social anxiety level between the only child and the non-only child.(5)There was no significant difference in the total social anxiety level and the social avoidance and distress dimension of junior high school students.There is a significant difference in the fear of denying the evaluation dimension,that is,junior high school students who have no academic experience are significantly higher than junior high school students who have academic experience.(6)The scores of social anxiety and the scores of all dimensions of the experimental group and the control group were significantly different after the experiment;the social anxiety level of the experimental group members was significantly reduced;the intervention experiment results showed that the group therapy of the dance therapy can effectively relieve junior high school Social anxiety.
