| The Shuangfendian site is a late Neolithic site located in the upstream of Han River in the northwestern of Hubei Province.The site is located above the terraces along the Weihe River,so the good location and superior natural environment provide convenient conditions for ancient human life.In order to cooperate with the construction of the Danjiangkou Reservoir in the Middle Route Project of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project,the Archaeological Team of the History Department of the Xiamen University’s Humanities College was commissioned by the Cultural Relics Bureau of Hubei Province,which carried out two careful excavations,and gained a lot of remains from Shijiahe culture period.There are 11 sites,30 burial sites,33 ash pits and 1 pottery kiln which were excavated in these two excavations in total.The number of housing sites is not only numerous but also rich in types among them.There are three types of rectangular row houses,single room adobe wall buildings and semi-geosite buildings;the number of funerals is also large and concentrated,and the type of burial is rich.The traces of headhunting customs are also found in kiln.Most of the remains of the Shuangfendian site are pottery.The types of utensils are cups,bowls,beans,pots,bowls,Tripods,cans,etc.Based on typology principles,we found that the site of Shuangfudian is the Qinglongquan III Type of Shijiahe Culture in the late Neolithic period through these materials.Based on the analysis of typical ruins,the characteristics of dwelling distribution of the site are clarified.At the same time,after analyzing the settlement of the site and its relationship with other three types of sites in Qinglongquan,we can included that the site is similar to the Qinglongquan site and the Qilihe site in Fang county,but there are also some difference amone them.This article provides new materials for a better understanding of the whole history of the three phases of the Shijiahe Culture Qinglongquan. |
