Body And Eyes-Rethinking Of Female Artists' Self Artistic Symbols

Female artists have never drawn public attention in art history,and artistic work created by female has been gradually emerging until the art transformed from the profession to one appetite.Narcissism,physical,material and gender experience has become most commonly applied expression vectors during female group creates art works,because this group has a highly similar form of artistic expression.So female artists are labeled by the forms mentioned above,then the label turns to female art symbol and composites one part of the whole of female artistic symbol system.This paper is focused on self-expressed artistic symbol from female artists,the semiotic theory and method are applied to illustrate the general characteristic of symbol selection and symbol employment when Chinese female artists make art.According to the research about the structure of artistic symbol and the relationship between female ego,symbol and social situation,the professional process of female artists is explained to go through from obtaining a short attention to tending to fade,the real living condition and social psychology of female from each stage is reflected clearly.And then,the rampant use of self-symbols and the embarrassing female art research situation is rethought carefully,one viewpoint is put forward,freeness of artist gender,a totally new artistic aspect and a timely artistic expression have the vital practical significance to the contemporary female art development.This paper includes five parts:Chapter 1 is introduction;this part expounds the background,purpose and significance of the paper,domestic and foreign research situation are also sorted out.Chapter 2 summarizes the common “selfhood” phenomenon of female artists from four steps,namely,the “selfhood” tendency during creation process,the tradition of self-expression,the sublimation of self-expression,and the “transition” of self-expression.Among the discussion of the tradition of self-expression,I choose self–respect,mother love,love and love for all four kinds of emotion according to the difference of subjects being described and female identity.Chapter 3 describes the common phenomenon of expression and similarity of artistic symbols of female artists from the following four aspects: the relationship of female body and symbols,the artists' decision of symbol,and the internal contradictions and inner psychology of female artists.Meanwhile,I employ the insistence and emphasis of female identity,female language and female grace to further discuss the similarity of artistic symbols.Chapter 4 is the explanation of the symbols and structures of female self-expression.I gradually discuss it from signifying the artistic image,the relationship of acceptation and interpretation during signing process,to the symbol structure of female artistic “selfhood”.And I point out the content and meaning of artistic symbol in female “selfhood” art.The conclusion part first indicates the female painting's dilemma in the development of art,and then points out female artists should make new breakthroughs in art attitude,and the change of art attitude is first step towards sound development.Art,society and world associate and interact with each other in a whole system,and the establishing of this kind of relationship is a necessary solution to solving alienation phenomenon occurring in art area.
