From "EDGE" To "SUBJECT" The Research Of American Abstract Expressionist Female Artists

Female artists have long been labeled as �her�,�second sex�,�being watched� and so on,and their status has been controversial in the art world.Due to its historical particularity,the importance of male subjects and their detachment have dominated.A large number of female artists are regarded as heterogeneous,which determines the marginal position of female artists in artistic creation,criticism and art history.Faced with the development of female artists,the current art field uses a more macro vision,which makes female artists gradually move from the "edge" state to the "subject" state.The overview of the important art movement of American abstract expressionism is mostly about the introduction of male artists.There is hardly any mention that some important female artists are also creating this art.Female artists are often overlooked in the abstract expressionist movement.Especially in the 1950 s and 1960 s,the situation was even more difficult.However,in the male-dominated art movement,women are also indispensable.With the rise of the second feminist movement in the late 1960 s and the many support groups,institutions,organizations,etc.that emerged during the period,American abstract expressionist female artists received unprecedented attention.Since then,due to the perfection of the art mechanism,the prosperity of the art market,and the diversification of art exhibitions,the American abstract expressionist female artists have returned to people's attention,and their artistic works and artistic values are highly sought after.Especially in recent years,the museum dedicated to the independent curation of American abstract expressionist female artists,and made great contributions to the construction of its main position.In the art market,American abstract expressionist female artists have established an artistic expression with the right to speak autonomously,occupying an absolute dominant position.Other art evaluation systems have also made active efforts to build the advanced status of American abstract expressionist female artists.From the perspective of contemporary art,the study of American abstract expressionist female artists today is a full affirmation of the past from the "marginal" to the present "subject" status,highlighting the independent aesthetic character and spiritual orientation of female artists.This thesis uses a newer artistic means and humanistic perspective to expand the expression dimension of contemporary art,enrich the contemporary people's psychological identity and spiritual perception,and thus grasp the overall perception of American abstract expressionism.
