As the information level of modern society grows rapidly,educational informationization has been in the stage of rapid development.In the field of education,the Ministry of Education is committed to improve the level of educational informationization and many senior high schools respond actively.Information technology has begun to be applied to the teaching of English subjects.In this situation,the level of senior high school English teacher' information literacy is vitally important.The president of the American Information Association,Paul Zurkowski firstly put forward the concept of information literacy in 1974.Then it has a great impact on English teachers themselves and English teachers' teaching.The level of English teachers' information literacy will truly affect their English teaching efficiency and effectiveness.Information literacy of English teachers contains English information awareness,English information knowledge,English information competence and English information ethic.Good English information literacy can make a contribution to promote the deep integration of information technology and English teaching and promote the development of senior high school English teaching under the background of educational informationization.Based on the questionnaire,observation and interview,taking the Middle School Attached to Sichuan University as an example,this thesis gets to know senior high school teachers' understanding of information literacy,and the current situation of the information literacy of senior high school English teachers.Finally,after having some interviews with six teachers,it will find out some factors that affect the improvement on senior high school English teachers' information literacy and gives some suggestions accordingly.The research results show that senior high school English teachers in the Middle School Attached to Sichuan University have a basic understanding of information literacy but lack of a systematic understanding of it.The English information awareness,English information knowledge and English information ethic are good but English information competence still has room to improve.According to the analysis of factors,the factors like the balance between the application of teachers and students in English classroom,the balance between teacher-student interaction and human and technological interaction and the professional training of senior high school English teachers' information literacy have great influence on the information literacy of senior high school English teachers.This study enriches the theory of information literacy of senior high school English teachers,promote their understanding of information literacy and promote the development of senior high school English teaching under the background of educational informationization.
