As the integration and development of the world economy,English has become the main communicative tool with other countries,it is also an important reflect of individual quality.Higher vocational education aims at cultivating academic and qualified students.Hence,improving the English level and cultural manners of the vocational college students becomes an important part of cultivating high-quality workers.In recent years,individual recruit students become the second largest learning group of higher vocational colleges.But the English lexis basis of the individual recruit students is weak,their method of reciting words is simplex,their memorizing effect is poor and their vocabulary learning becomes dull and passive.Then some new problems of public English teaching of individual recruit students emerged,and vocabulary teaching is one of them.Thus,vocabulary teaching becomes the important issue of English teaching reforms.This paper investigates the teaching strategy of the individual recruited students English vocabulary teaching by using word-reciting app in Qin Huangdao vocational and technical college based on the following problems: vocabulary teaching problems of public English courses,individual recruited students' attitude and motivations in English vocabulary learning,and the present vocabulary learning situation.The main research methods of the paper are observational method,questionnaire method,interviewing method and experimentation method.This paper use the individual recruit students as the object of study,and put forward a teaching design based on the principles of blended learning.Word-reciting app is applied in the public English vocabulary teaching,this design can help the students overcome the English vocabulary learning problems in and out of class,enlarge their vocabulary,improve their autonomous learning ability,change their English learning attitude and increase their English learning efficiency.This paper chose the app named “i Word” to apply in the English vocabulary teaching after comparing with other popular word-reciting apps.And it also creates the basic lexical library of the New Horizon English Course,and this can be a good assist tool for public English vocabulary teaching.This research is based on the Blended learning,constructivism and motivation theory,it conducts an experiment to testify the possibility and the practicability of word-reciting software assisting English vocabulary teaching in order to promote the individual recruit students' English proficiency and improve the public English teaching.
