With the continuous development of society, the concept of corporate social responsibility has gradually become a social consensus, which continues to influence the understanding and expectations of the public and the majority of consumers. This translation practice material is selected from the third chapter of Radical Consumption--Shopping for Change in Contemporary Culture. The book draws on the theoretical perspectives of contemporary media and cultural studies, including cosmopolitanism, reflexivity, cultural economy and ethics, and discusses the “radical” nature of consumption.Chapter 3 has conducted an in-depth analysis of the history, development and current status of corporate social responsibility from the view of contemporary consumerism. In this translation practice, the writer of the translation practice report adopts the translation method combining literal translation with free translation to translate the selected materials. In the report, first the writer has sum up the key points and difficult problems encountered in the process of translation, and then analyzed the case study on the level of lexis, syntax and discourse,in order to have a certain academic significance for translators.Through this translation practice, the writer has realized that the writer should not only promote the language ability, but also accumulate knowledge and keep pace with the times, making full use of information resources such as Internet,to lay a solid foundation for translation practice.
