The Application Of Guangdong Foo Dog In Modern Design

The lion is a unique and indispensable artistic image in the Chinese traditional art,which has been spread to Guangdong province.It has also shaped into the traditional lion modeling art(abbreviated as Guangdong Foo Dog)in Guangdong with local characteristics.The in-depth study of Guangdong Foo Dog can not only accumulate valuable materials and inspirations for modern design,but also review and supplement relevant materials of the precious cultural heritage.The application of Guangdong Foo Dog in modern design is not only making full use of this classic artistic image,but also an important means of exploring the modern value of such traditional art and helping it continue to show great vitality.With the case analysis method,the paper first carries out a modeling study on four types of representative Guangdong Foo Dog,namely Stone lion,Wood lion,Plaster lion and Dancing lion,in which their characteristics are summarized to provide data support for the design and research.Combined with the development status of Gangdong Foo Dog and the case study on the application of Guangdong Foo Dog in modern design,the paper points out three major innovation directions,namely "Reshape the ideal","Integrate into life" and "Carry forward the spirit".Finally,in accordance with the above theoretical research results,coupled with the author's own professional research orientation,the paper presents an original design scheme with Guangdong Foo Dog as he topic.
