Cultural industry known as the 21st century industry,has gradually become an important path to the national cultural soft power.Recently,Korea has made great achievements on cultural trade,which has much concern with its cultural policy to establish the economy.The rise of Korea cultural industry not only stimulated the development of the national economy,but successfully created the national image.Meanwhile,China has a strong economy recently.Because of lately catching up,China's cultural industry is taking shape.In June 2015,China and South Korea signed free trade agreement,which was a great boost to bilateral trade.China and South Korea will enter a mutually beneficial and win-win era.The object of the current article covers the cultural trade development of China and Korea.Consequently,based on these status,the main research are organized as:(1)knowing the status of both countries' cultural industries and cultural trade and making the comparison of the two;(2)calculating separate import and export potentials with their trading partners.A solid theoretical and statistical framework is arranged:for the first research question,Porter's Diamond Model and TC index and RCA index are used as analytic frameworks;for the second,Trade Gravitation Model is utilized.To figure out these,the thesis is organized by seven parts.The first chapter is the introduction,giving a brief description of background and the significance of this issues,the main object and content,the research road-map and methodology.Also there is the potential innovations during the research.Chapter 2 focuses on the concept and literature review on cultural trade.Chapter 3 goes to have a brief review of theories and framework as Comparative Advantage Theory,Porter's Diamond model,TC index,RCA index and Trade Gravitation Model.Chapter 4 takes advantage of Porter's Diamond Model to figure out the situations between China and South Korea cultural trade characteristics.Chapter 5 moves on to quantitative comparison of China's and Korea's cultural trade,taking advantage of TC index on cultural goods and RCA index on cultural services of both countries.Chapter 6 tries to figure out import and export potentials of the two and describe future cultural trade prospects.Based on the extended gravitation model,trade potentials are estimated.Chapter 7 is the conclusion part and the suggestions.It summarizes the main findings and provides the prospects of China's cultural industry with suggestions from three dimensions of government,enterprises,talents nursing.Through in-depth research,the main findings cover the following:(1)Korea's cultural industries is national policy dominate,whereas China's is manufacturing dominate.(2)As with creative goods trade,China is reversing the disadvantage trend to a weak advantage on Korea.(3)As with creative services trade,Korea is significantly stronger than that of China.(4)As with export potentials,the cultural export from Korea to China is sufficient;the export potential from China to Korea is large.Based on these,the thesis provides the prospects and suggestions of China's future cultural industries.China and Korea,on one hand,through the FTA,joint efforts to tap on the export potential markets;on the other hand can strengthen cooperation in publishing,handicrafts,game videos,audition and related services,personal cultural and entertainment creative services.
