The Research Of Yan Zhenqing's Calligraphy Style In Yuan Dynasty

Since emperor Tang Taizong,the dominant position of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi has been changed after the appearance of Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy style.Calligraphers who come after them can have two different choices when they face the tradition.The Yan's calligraphy style was populated in the northern Song Dynasty,and it is important for the development of calligraphy history.The research of the paper consists of four parts: calligraphy theories,Preface and postscript,education system,Collection and virtuosity.It can show the real state of Yan's calligraphy in Yuan Dynasty.First,the Northern Worship the calligraphy of Yan in Yuan Dynasty was based on the Yan's traditions in the middle and later periods in Jin Dynasty.Because of the calligraphy community in Yuan has inherited characteristics in the late of Jin Dynasty.Second,the neo-confucianism was evolved into Official school in Yuan Dynasty.It is the basic of popularized of Yan's calligraphy in Yuan Dynasty.The Calligraphy theorists including Hao Jing,Wang Yun and Zheng Zhuo,they has completed reasonable theoretical structure of Yan's calligraphy in early,middle and later stages of the Yuan Dynasty.Third,the research of the relationship between the Confucian education and the spread of Yan's calligraphy.In the early period of Yuan Dynasty,The Yan's calligraphy style has a phenomenon of “north strong south weak”,because of the development of conucianism has regional difference.In the middle period of Yuan Dynasty,Yan's calligraphy has great progress,because of the establishment of education system of primary school.Both of them are harmonious development.In the late period of Yuan Dynasty,the “retro” ideological trend of Zhao Mengfu was very popular.This leads to decline of Yan's calligraphy.Forth,the investigation of Yan's production in the official and folk appreciation and collection of Yuan,it is very important to popularity of Yan's calligraphy.
