The new curriculum standard for high school English(Ministry of education,2003)advocate that English Teaching in senior high school should focus on the ability to use English properly in interpersonal communication.To attach this aim,students firstly are able to use English accurately.The accuracy of the use of English is embodied in the grammatical level.Therefore,in order to better understand the current situation of senior high school students' oral English,this study from the perspective of grammar based on Gui Shi chun &Yang Huizhong(2003)on China learner classification theory of speech error is studied with oral English test on 90 students of high school in Guangdong Province.The research is conducted from the following three aspects.First,from the types of grammatical errors,what are the main types of oral grammatical errors produced by three grade students in senior high school? Second,from the frequency of grammatical types,is there any difference in the frequency of oral grammatical errors in high school students and different level students? Third,from the error factors,whether the errors in English spoken English of high school students are related to the grammatical complexity of spoken English?The study reveals the following results:(1)oral error types of three grade students in high school are involved in nine types of errors: verb,noun,adjective,adverb,preposition,conjunction,lexicon and syntactic category.Among them,lexicon,verb and noun are the difficulties of high school students' oral English;(2)In the study of the same type of grammatical error,there is only a difference in the type of pronouns among the three grade students in high school.However,there are differences in nouns and prepositional types between high and low groups;(3)High school students' oral errors have obvious correlationwith the syntactic complexity of their oral expression.Based on the research finding,the paper puts forward some suggestions on English teaching in Senior High School.Firstly,English teachers should be good at guiding students to learn English with English thinking.Secondly,English teachers are supposed to help their students to enrich vocabulary.In addition,English teachers should be aware to discovering their students' oral problems and training pertinently students to correct the oral mistake.Finally,English teachers should reflect on their teaching behaviors in class,standardize the teacher's oral English and conduct the full English teaching.At the same time,English teachers encourage their students to communicate in English.In the oral task setting,English teachers should take the accuracy of oral English as the main goal.It is hoped that teachers will be able to carry out the requirements for the appropriate use of spoken English in the new English curriculum standard for senior high school in the practical teaching,and really improve the students' oral communicative competence.
