A Report On C-E Translation Of The Articles Of Association Of Ping An Bank Co.Ltd.

With the development of economy,more and more Chinese enterprises start to develop their business abroad.As the translation of the articles of association of the company is the first step for domestic enterprises to go to the world,its translation has gained a great deal of attention.However,research on the translation of articles of association,especially English translation,is very rare.Most research has focused on a broad analysis from different perspectives like,vocabulary,syntax,stylistic features and so on,but lacks relatively specific and targeted analysis.Therefore,the author writes this translation report that mainly studies the application of addition and omission in translating the Articles of Association of Ping An Bank Co.,Ltd.(the AoA).This report,on the basis of introducing the background of the translation,the AoA and the whole translation process,presents the application of addition and omission in the translation by analyzing specific examples.The application of addition includes the following four aspects:addition of synonyms,addition because of sentence reorganization,addition because of grammatical restructuring and addition of implied information,while the application of omission consists of the three aspects:omission of category nouns and redundant information and omission because of sentence reorganization.The translation of articles of association is part of legal translation.Based on the unique features of legal translation,the author considers that both faithfulness and effectiveness are the criteria for legal translation,while addition and omission are two effective technologies that can achieve effective communication in legal mechanism in the process of interlingual translation.Therefore,the author sincerely hopes that this report can provide a new perspective for the study of English translation of articles of association,simultaneously improve the quality of translation.Finally,this report makes a brief summary of the translation process and report writing process.The main achievement is the specific analysis of the application of addition and omission,but the classification of the examples cited in the report still needs further consideration and improvement.
