More and more foreign bestsellers enter the Chinese market in the process of informatization and globalization.Chinese readers expect good translation and impose higher requirements on translators.Entrusted by the Beijing Manbanpai Culture Co.,LTD,the author translated the Chapter Seven to Chapter Eleven of Persuadable,a business best-seller featured by extensive professional knowledge and vivid narrative style.The translator shall manage to be faithful to the source text and produce the target text with similar narrative style in order to bring the readers in the target language with the same or similar reading experience with those in the source language.In this report,the translator chooses the most appropriate translated text from comparative translations so that the final translated version should get much closer to the source text,more fully convey the original author's thoughts,and more effectively meet the reading habits of the target readers.Guided by the three rules of the Skopos theory and Translator's Reader Consciousness and combined with the difficulties emerged during translating,the author assumes that a successful translation of best-sellers should abide by three rules,i.e.readability rule,acceptability rule and fidelity rule.The author purposefully adopts varied translation methods,such as free translation,literal translation,replacement,combination of literal and free translation,and literal translation plus annotation,so as to solve the translation problem which encountered in translation process,such as the terms,culture-loaded words and rhetorical devices.
