Shyness is a mixed social phenomenon and social anxiety is also a common psychological problem.College students are a special group of society.Excessive shyness and social anxiety have a great influence on the interpersonal relationship, learning and career development of college students.Previous researches revealed that first, foreign theoretical study found that there were differences in intuition response between the social anxiety students and non-social anxiety groups, and began to attach importance to the impact of other people's evaluation;second, tools such as the shyness scale and other evaluation scale applicable to college students are lacked in domestic researches;third, there are many similarities and differences between shyness and social anxiety.Individuals who feel anxious(social anxiety)in social situations often interact with others accompanying shy behavior, and currently there are few studies on the mechanism of both shyness and social anxiety;fourth, some intervention studies confirmed that cognitive behavioral therapy can relieve college students' shyness or social anxiety. There was a significant effect, but it ignored the efficacy of verifying cognitive behavioral therapy on college students who were both shy and socially anxious. Therefore, this study will focus on the relationship between shyness, social anxiety and evaluation of others, and further explore the intervention of college students' shyness and social anxiety. This study is divided into three parts:Study 1 was to revise the English version of “Henderson-Zimbardo Shyness Questionnaire”(Shy Q)and “Evalutaion of Others”(EOS)into Chinese version. In Study 2,the revised Chinese version of “Henderson-Zimbardo Shyness Questionnaire”(Shy Q),“Evalutaion of Others”(EOS),“Interpersonal anxiety scale”(IAS)were applied to Chinese college students to explore the correlation between the shyness, social anxiety and evaluation of others.Study 3 used individual cognitive behavioral therapy to intervene college students' shyness and social anxiety. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The revised “Henderson-Zimbardo Shyness Questionnaire”(Shy Q)and “Evalutaion of Others”(EOS)have good reliability and validity. It is an effective assessment tool to evaluate the shy performance and intuitive response to others.(2)The revised “Henderson-Zimbardo Shyness Questionnaire”(Shy Q)has 6 dimensions including self-limited expression, seeking appreciation, self reproach, fear of refusal, fear of negative evaluation and doubting others.“Evalutaion of Others”(EOS)has 3 dimensions including people do not care about me,people will hurt me and people will make use of me.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between College Students' shyness and social anxiety;social anxiety can directly predict college students' shyness and indirectly influence college students' shyness through the intermediary effect of evaluation of others.(4)Individual cognitive behavior therapy can effectively improve college students' social anxiety and shyness.
