As an instant language transferring activity, simultaneous interpreting requires that interpreters should fulfill the task of listening, comprehension, memorizing, transferring and production all at the same time, which means interpreters have to do their utmost to balance all the efforts involved.Effort Model theory of Gile holds that the total capacity of the interpreter comprises the ability of listening and analysis,short-term memory, speech production and coordination. The total efforts should not exceed the total capacity, the efforts taken in each task not exceeding the capacity available in each. The theory makes an objective and scientific description of the relationship between capacity and efforts, which is of strong guiding significance to the study and practice of simultaneous interpreting. The report is based on materials collected in six mock interpreting practices from the MTI class《Mock Conference Interpreting》.With the framework of Effort Model,by means of recording, reviewing and transcribing, the author summarized the main problems in her mock simultaneous interpreting, analyzed causes for her mistakes and provided revised version.Besides, the author made a survey on the performances of the other student interpreters in the class, trying to figure out common influencing factors in simultaneous interpreting quality of the students. Some suggestions are thus made, including full preparations before the task, improving the quality of the student interpreters especially in listening and interpreting, coordinating the efforts of the students in listening, memorizing and interpreting, and flexibly utilizing some simultaneous interpreting skills. The report is aimed at improving the overall quality of the author in simultaneous interpreting and providing useful reference to the simultaneous interpreting of the other students as well.
