| Under the influence of the Belt and Road Initiative,many western scholars have made multi-angle studies on Chinese ceramics and published numerous related works which had in-depth discussions on the history of overseas propagation of Chinese ceramics and their world influence.This article is based on the porcelain chapters in the literature Silk,Porcelain and Lacquer-China and Japan and their Trade with Western Europe and the New World,1500-1644,and the author extracts 10,000 words for analysis.The literature has specifically introduced the export history of Chinese ceramics.It cannot only make readers understand the specific shape,type and usage of export porcelain during the Ming Dynasty,but also the trade forms,distributors,distribution routes and other related information.It shows a vivid and specific history of the export porcelain.The translation of the literature is of great significance to the study of the export porcelain.The source text belongs to the informative text.According to Reiss' s text typology,the author analyzes its language and stylistic features,and discusses the lexical and syntactic features of the source text.Moreover,the author follows the translation characteristics of the informative text,that is,faithfully and completely conveys the original content,and guides the translation process.By analysis of examples,translation difficulties such as proper nouns,passive sentences and long sentences are mainly studied.According to the translation features of the proper nouns,translation methods such as literal translation and transliteration are used to translate names of foreigners,places and shipwreck.As for the passive sentences and long and complex sentences in the source text,translation methods such as the change of voices and sequential translation are adopted.Finally,it is hoped that the attempt of this paper will provide a practical reference for literature translation of the export porcelain. |
