Left-behind children belong to a special vulnerable group in the social transformation of our country.The healthy growth of left-behind children has become an outstanding social problem,which has aroused widespread concern.Paying attention to their mental health condition and development is helpful to the comprehensive understanding of left-behind children and promoting social progress.The purpose of this study is to understand the present situation of mental health development of left-behind children,and to analyze and explore on the relationship between Family function,Social support,School adaptation and Mental Health of Left-behind Children,Then verify the ecological model of psychological development of left-behind children.Under the guidance of relevant theoretical models and empirical research,promote the mental health education of left-behind children better.In the study 1,the mental health condition of 1300 students of left-behind children and non-left-behind children was measured by mental health diagnostic test(MHT),and compared left-behind children with that of non-left-behind children.Objective to understand the mental health status of left-behind children.Secondly,the family function condition of 550 left-behind children was measured by family function scale.On this basis,the demographic factors and family function of left-behind children on their mental health were analyzed.In the study 2,we used the Family function scale,the Social support rating scale and the Adolescent School Life adaptability scale to explore the effects of family function,social support and school adaptation on the mental health of 550 left-behind children in junior middle school.and to analyze and explore on the relationship between Family function,Social support,School adaptation and Mental Health of Left-behind Children.It is the Mediating role of Social support or school adaptation between the family function and the mental health of the left behind children,Verify the ecological model of psychological development of left-behind children proposed by Shen Jiliang.The results show that there is no significant difference in total scores and dimensions of mental health between left-behind children and non-left-behind children.There was a significant correlation between social support and school adaptation,a significant negative correlation between the total score of mental health and family function,a significant negative correlation between the total score ofmental health and social support,and a significant positive correlation between family function and social support.Family function was significantly positively correlated with school adaptation,total score of mental health was negatively correlated with school adaptation,school adaptation was significantly positively correlated with social support,family function,social support and school adaptation had not only direct effects on mental health.Family function can not only directly affect mental health,but also influence mental health indirectly through social support or school adaptation.In conclusion,we conclude that the level of mental health condition development of left-behind children is in the normal range.The family function,social support and school adaptation of left-behind children are closely related to the mental health condition of left-behind children.It plays an active role in maintaining and promoting the mental health of left-behind children.
