Reading ability is one of the important abilities that English learners need to have.In2003,the Ordinary Senior High School English Curriculum Standard put forward the idea of“optimizing the learning style and improving the autonomous learning ability”.At the same time,in the requirements of reading teaching,it is proposed that “the fundamental task of English reading teaching in senior high school is to cultivate students' English autonomous reading ability.” In recent years, some scholars have continuously offered suggestions for cultivating senior high school students' autonomous reading ability. However, the autonomous reading ability of students in most areas in our country is still not optimistic. The guided-learning plan is a learning plan which is designed by teachers according to the actual teaching situation so as to guide students to learn independently.Applying guided-learning plan for teaching is a localized educational innovation in China. This model has changed the tradition of being teacher-centered and has been favored by many schools because of its adherence to the concept of autonomous learning advocated by the new curriculum standard. In order to make the guided-learning plan comply with the requirements of the times and be able to cultivate students' autonomous reading ability effectively, this study attempts to include micro-video resources. In order to prove that the optimized guided-learning plan has a positive impact on developing English autonomous reading ability of senior high school students, the author carried out this study from the three aspects of students' reading interests, reading strategies and reading performance based on the analysis and understanding of the definitions and influencing factors of autonomous reading ability, and put forward the following three research hypotheses: first,guided-learning plan can stimulate students' reading interests.Second, students can master and use more English reading strategies after applying guided-learning plan.Third,guided-learning plan can help students perform better in English reading tests. In this study,80 students from two parallel classes in a senior high school in Yingkou City are selected as the research subjects, and the experimental period is one semester. The control class still adopts the traditional teaching model for reading teaching, while the experimental class uses guided-learning plan to conduct reading teaching. The author uses the questionnaire,pre-test,post-test and interview to collect data, and uses SPSS22.0 software to analyze the data results. The results of the study show that under the guidance of guided-learning plan, the reading interests of students in experimental class have been improved obviously and the students in experimental class can master and use certain reading strategies. In addition,thepost-test scores of the experimental class are significantly higher than that of the control class, which indicates that the guided-learning plan can effectively improve students' reading performance compared with the traditional teaching model. This research proves to be significant in that it enriches and develops the guided-learning plan.On the other hand,it provides useful data for the study of improving senior high school students' autonomous reading ability.
