Confucius's View Of Junzi

There are lots of views and values coming into being throughout the 5000 years of Chinese history,and one of the most familiar is the Confucian idea of "Junzi",or gentleman.The changes of content of traditional Chinese Junzi,has huge influence on the strategy of running the nation and bridges the gap between the lower class and upper class.The humanity,righteousness,bravery,wisdom,credibility and moderation in Confucianism inspire people with lofty ideals to follow the principle of"rectifying the mind and regulating the family,country and the world",promots the development of Chinese civilization.Confucianism is rooted in the soul of Chinese people and culture.Nowadays,Confucianism is no longer the weapon of a feudal king.But in establishing socialism with Chinese characteristics,especially in developing socialist culture and ethics,it can still be very useful.This thesis discuss the evolution of the concept of Junzi,as well as the roles of Confucianism in this process.After analyzing the content of Confucianism,we explores the reason of its vitality in Chinese culture.We also look inte the value of the Confucian idea of Junzi in establishing socialism with Chinese characteristics and its culture effect.
