This article tries to know the painting art of Morandi by the perspective of "breath",to explore the source of the spirit of the "metaphysical" painting of his ordinary things."Qi" is moving and explicit,and "Break" is quiet and implicit."Breath" is combined by moving and quiet,as well as explicit and implicit,and it is suffusing and forming rhythmic movement,refers to the "breath" of the painting surface and the formation of the mysterious atmosphere in painting.Morandi's paintings are the closest to Chinese paintings in the kernel,not only in the unique way of viewing,but also in the formal language,which is in harmony with the spirit of Chinese art.This is providing a new perspective to explore the source point in research of eastern and western artistic expression spirit behind the “metaphysical” painting.Compared with the researches on Morandi's paintings by domestic and foreign scholars,this article attempts to re-examine Morandi's works from a new perspective: the “breath” and explicit and implicit behind “breath”,as well as the recycling of rhythm and mystery,also the spirit of expression behind the "breath in Morandi's paintings.From the perspective of “breath”,through the analysis of many works of Morandi,it will be found the rhythm of “breath” generally existing in these works.From this point of view,we can cut into another new viewing way to look for the breakthroughs in the methods of artistic creation and painting language experiments,to explore new language of expression.From this point,there is no distinction between the West and the East,and compared with painters who have somewhat similarity in root of Morandi's paintings by comprehensive research,such as: Italian early Renaissance painters Giotto,Francesca;Modernism Painter Cezanne;Chinese Painter Shi Tao,and Bada-shanren,and so on.The preface and conclusion are respectively a general description of the "breath" and extension of this perspective.This article is divided into three parts: The first part is: Description of the rhythm in silence,and the silence in the rhythm to understand the "quietness and movement,as will as,explicit and implicit of Morandi's painting world",and the interpretation of the "breath" of Morandi's pictorial language and the expression spirit behind of them,briefly describing the “breath” in the later stages of the evolution of Morandi's style of painting,and exploring the different phenomena of “breath” in his later works,made the comparison by his paintings,watercolors,etched copper plates,sketches and other different media materials.The second part is: Discussing the sources and forming opportunities of “breath”.It is analyzing Morandi's life experiences,habits,and environments to understand the influence on formation of “breath” in his paintings,and explore the harmonious between his inner heart and the “breath” in his paintings.And emphasizing it is the inheritance and communication that is the connotation opportunity of “breath” in gradually formed.The third part is: "undercurrent in same law" of the "metaphysical" master,from the perspective of "breath" to make the comparison of the "metaphysics" masterpieces vertically and horizontally,which is somewhat similar spirit to Morandi's paintings,to explore the source behind the "metaphysical" painting,and the performance spirit behind "breath".It will from mainly from the two aspects: "origin from up and down " and "undercurrent in same law " to discuss it.
