Huai Su's Calligraphy Style And The Influence Relationships

Huai Su is a significant person,who can represent cursive script in Tang dynasty.His Zi Xu Tie is exactly the classical literature of highly cursive script style.Research literatures about Huai Su are as vast as a misty ocean.However,systematic researches about history of Huai Su`s calligraphy style and the influence relationships between each works are still lack.This paper analyses and investigates the relationship between his middle year`s work Zi Xu Tie and later year`s Lun Shu,Ku Sun Tie from the combination view of Huai Su`s academic experiences and specific works,summaries the route of changes and forming of Huai Su`s calligraphy idea,analyses the role and influence of Huai Su on the changes of calligraphy idea and writing methods in Tang dynasty.This paper consists of three parts,introduction,main body,and conclusion.The first chapter of the main body introduces the most important calligraphy learning experiences during Huai Su`s whole life.What's more,it also analyses Huai Su`s work combined with the interpersonal communication with Chan master Hui Rong,Wu Tong,Xu Hao,Yan Zhenqing,and so on,which paved the way for reasons of the later forming Huai Su`s Calligraphy style.The second chapter mainly focuses on the variety and creativity of Huai Su`s work to reveal the relationship between the causes and changes of different styles.The third chapter summarizes Huai Su`s calligraphy idea by analyzing his later year's style through the works excerpts from Xuan He Hua Pu.The forth chapter looks back to the causes and changes clue of Huai Su`s calligraphy style,then concludes the creation experiences.This paper explores the changes and development of Huai Su`s calligraphy style from the view of aesthetics and historical science.Hope this paper can have good influence on current cursive script creation and related theories development.
