With an increasingly significant position in people's life,tourism has enjoyed more and more popularity,which brings opportunity for travel agency.However,the qualifications of the relevant agencies can greatly impact people's choice of a travel agent for especially travelling overseas.One of such qualification representatives to which the travel company attaches much importance is the complete propaganda material filing in both Chinese and English if its target travel destination being an English-speaking one.The present report is the reflection on such a task translation of Travel Notice Concerning Europe and America,entrusted to the translator by Shandong Great Wall International Travel Service.In view of the features of the text,the target reader and the task's filing purpose,Skopos Theory was applied as the translation theoretical guidance.The report consists of five chapters.Chapter One introduces the background information of the task,the feature of the original text,and the requirements of the client.Chapter Two gives a description of translation process,including preparing,translating and proofreading.Chapter Three gives an introduction to Skopos theory and its core rules.Chapter Four is case analysis.Cases are chosen and analyzed from levels of lexis,syntax and text to demonstrate the guidance and application of Skopos Theory in this translation practice.Translation strategies such as addition,omission and conversion of parts of speech at lexical level,for instance,are discussed in detail to exemplify the author's effort to guarantee high quality translation.Chapter Five sums up the merits and demerits of this translation practice,hoping to provide a kind of reference for the similar translation.
