With the development of economic globalization and the accelerated implementation of opening-up policy in China,more and more Chinese enterprises are beginning to participate in the global competition in many fields such as in international competitive bidding.Bidding documents,as the guideline and the legal basis,is of crucial importance for the tender activity.This is a report on the E-C translation practice of the tender notice of ?Medigadda Barrage? undertaken by the author during her internship at YGYM Translation,which requires the translator to be qualified with relevant professional knowledge to ensure the translation to be professional and precise so as to conform to its formal and legal style.This practice report is composed of four parts.Part One is a brief introduction of the background,characteristics and significance of this translation project.Part Two elaborates the whole translation process,including the preparation of the translation,translation itselfand post-translational proofreading work.Part Three is the case study,the focus of this report,which makes a detailed elaboration on three aspects,textual features,lexical characteristics and sentence structures,and explores how to achieve objectiveness,accuracy and standardization by adopting flexibletranslationstrategiesas literal translation,addition,conversion,etc.under the guidance of Functional Translation Theory.In Part Four,the author makes a summary and reflection on the translation practice to offer some referential value to concerned translators.
