At present,under the background of balanced education,the allocation of teaching resources in the vast rural schools has been optimized.At the same time,necessary learning conditions and environments are also provided for rural high school students to learn English.However,a lot of rural junior high school students have many problems in English-learning motivation,which are caused by internal factors as well as external factors.How to cultivate and stimulate these students'learning motivation and improve their English achievement is of great importance.This study takes the rural high schools in Shouxian County of Huainan City in Anhui Province as an example,using the methods of questionnaires and interviews,such as analysis of the current situation of students' English-learning motivation in Chinese rural junior high schools,the questions and the reasons.And combined with the author's teaching practice,it is expected that students' English-learning motivation be stimulated in their future study.And then after learning and teaching through the discussion,the strategies for teachers to cultivate students' motivation in learning English are optimized.This study shows that:(1)Students with different genders have different motivations for learning English,and girls are more motivated to learn English than boys.(2)The various periods of junior high school students have different English learning motivations.(3)There are differences between the sources of motivation,and students' motivation of English learning in rural junior high school mainly comes from extrinsic motivation.(4)There is a close relationship between students'motivation and achievement.Finally,the study analyzes the internal and external factors that influence the learning motivation of students and puts forward some strategies to cultivate and motivate the English-learning motivation of students in rural junior high schools.
