A Study On The City Remains Of Xia And Shang Dynasty Of Wangjinglou Site,Xinzheng

The relics of Xia and Shang dynasty in Wangjinglou Site,Xinzheng County include two connotations of Erlitou Culture and Erligang Culture.The Erlitou Culture can be divided into two phases,and the Erligang Culture can be divided into three phases.They were closely related in time,space and appearance.The phase Ⅰ of Erlitou Culture in Wangjinglou Site is equivalent to the late stage of phase Ⅲ to the late stage of phase IV of Erlitou Culture in Erlitou Site,and the phase Ⅱ of Erlitou Culture in Wangjinglou Site is equivalent to the latest stage of phase Ⅳ of Erlitou Site or even later.Besides,the development speed of Erlitou Culture of Wangjinglou and other sites in Zhengzhou regions was different from Erlitou Site,Yanshi County.There are many development sequences of typical artifacts such as Li and Dakouzun in Erligang Culture from the early to the late period.The phase I of Erligang Culture in Wangjinglou Site is roughly equivalent to"the Lower Layer Phase II of Erligang",the phase II of Erligang Culture in Wangjinglou Site is equivalent to"the Upper Layer of Erligang",and the phase Ⅲ of Erligang Culture in Wangjinglou Site is equivalent to "the Baijiazhuang period" or may be earlier.The outer city moat in Wangjinglou Site was built in the phase II of Erlitou.In the phase I of Erligang,the outer city walls were built.Soon afterwards,the inner circle walls and moat were built,reflecting the important status of settlements and the intensification of social conflicts.Meanwhile,the outer city walls and moat were damaged and gradually abandoned.The inner city walls and moat were used and maintained during the phase II of Erligang until the late period of the same phase when they were gradually destroyed.Finally,in the phase Ⅲ of Erligang,the city moat was completely filled and lost its function,reflecting the decline of the settlements.
