A Study On The Inheritance And Protection Of YiCheng Qin Opera In Shanxi Province

The Yicheng Qin Opera is a local opera in Shanxi Province.It is an emerging genre that evolved from the very fundation of Yicheng story-telling opera.The Qin Opera originates in Yicheng County,Linfen City,Shanxi Province,and spreads in southern of Shanxi Province,northern of Henan Province and eastern of Shan xi Province,the performance of it is mainly in the countryside.The melody is regular and pleasant,the lyrics are simple and witty,the motions delicate and lingering,and the subject is close to true life.With its unique artistic charm,Qin opera gradually had a place in the south of XiAn where Pu opera and MeiHu were extremely popular at that time,it was such that and became the most popular opera drama among the Jinnan people.Yicheng Story-telling,the predecessor of the Yicheng Qin opera,has a long history and can be Traced back to the prosperous time of Yuan Dynasty.Later,along with the Increase of accompaniment of music Instruments and the changes of singing forms,it successfully explored another path of inheriting its own culture,from “storytelling” to “telling story”.In 2010 Yicheng Story-telling was listed as a non-material cultural heritage protection project directory,however,it still has a long way to go as a form of Qin opera.At present,the troupe of Qin opera in the Qinpu County Theatre is the only professional one around the whole country.The management and construction work of the troupe will directly affect the inherit-ance and protection of the opera.The research results of this article are mainly based on the method of filed investigation by analysing relevant literatures,visiting artists of YiCheng Story-telling,and observing their performances in the countryside.Besides,They integrate their history,geography,language,and folk customs,comb their developing venation,refine artistic features of the Yicheng Qin Opera,display the current situations of the survival of the Yicheng Qin Opera,and propose measures to protect the Yicheng Qin Opera.The entire text can divide into four chapters.The part of introduction,which shows the significance of the topic,current research status and argumentation ideas.The first chapter describes the origin and evolution of the Yicheng Qin opera,narrates,how the Qin Opera evolved from the YiCheng Story-Telling,and the achievements and setbacks of YiCheng Story-telling in its developing process.In the second chapter,the artistic features of the Yicheng Qin Opera are discussed in detail in terms of language,subject,melody,aria,plate type,accompanyment,band,and repertoire,demonstrating the charm of the Qin Opera;Chapter 3 based on the investigations of the current living conditions of Qin opera,the in-depth study of Qin opera troupe records the oral quotations of the troupe members,this article also introduces the main members of the troupe,analysis the developing history of the troupe,and summarizes the repertoire of performance and awards.The fourth chapter is about the protection of Qin opera.Through the analysis of the current status of Qin opera,it shows the necessity and importance of the protection of the Qin drama,lists the major crises that Qin opera now is confronted with and finally,it provides some practical measures and suggestions for the inheritance and protection of Qin drama.
