Facial expression is a very important social stimulus that can be used to identify familiar and strangers, and it also can infer various kinds of information. The face of a particular individual carries information about many biologically and socially important attributes such as identity, species, gender, age,as well as emotional state.Of all this information, facial identity and facial expression may be the most significant and important aspects of nonverbal communication in social situations.Face expression is crucial to the social communication between human beings. It is a form of non-verbal communication and the main means of transmitting social information among human beings. To date, there are few researches paid attention to the associative memory of face and background, and few studies have explored the recognition of facial expression and the associative memory of face and background with emotional stimulation of different value. Therefore,in the first experiment, this study explored the emotional consistency of emotional faces and backgrounds with different valences.Using two-factorial repetition of 2(facial expression: positive face, negative face)×2(emotional context: positive context and negative context).Measurements of variance analysis were performed to investigate the effect of valences on associative memory of face and background in the case of consensus and inconsistency.Due to the similarities between the facial expression configurations, three negative face, digust, anger, fear were used in the second experiment. There are three ANOVA including 2(facial expression:disgust, anger)× 2(emotional consistency: consistent, high similarity),2(facial expression:disgust, fear)× 2(emotional consistency: consistent, low similarity),3(facial expression: digust, anger, fear)× 2(emotional consistency: consistent, inconsistent). And the aim of the E2 is to explore the impact of the condition of emotional consistency, emotional inconsistency, high similarity, low similarity on the associative memory of face and background under the condition of three different similarities of facial expression(digust, anger, fear). We concluded that:First, different valence will enhance the memory of negative faces, but negative faces will narrow the attention, weakening the associative memory of face and background;and positive face will expand the range of attention, the associative memory of happy faces and background is better than the associative memory of fear faces and background.Second, when the valence is same, the item memory of anger faces is better than disgust faces under high similarity condition memory of fear faces is better than disgust faces under the condition of low similarity and inconsistency. For the associative memory,no matter it is consistent or inconsistent, the association memory of the face and background is better than that of the fear face and background, and the associative memory of the anger face and background is better than that of the fear face and the background.Third, for the problem of emotional consistency, when the valence is different, emotional items in the condition of emotional inconsistency are better than those in the emotional condition;when the valences are same, the item memory and the associative memory of face and background.in the condition of emotional inconsistency is better than the condition of emotional consistency...
