Function Design And Implementation Of Educational Robot In English Teaching

The main function of language is communication.As the international communication is more and more frequent,all walks of life have gradually strengthened the demand for talented people who are good at spoken English.However,the effect of oral teaching in Chinese schools is not ideal,and the situation of "dumb English" is not uncommon in universities.The main reason is that the lack of situation of oral practice,and motivation caused by learners' personal psychological factors.Educational robot is a kind of robot developed in the field of education to cultivate students' ability to analyze,create and practice.It has been found that educational robots have a positive impact on improving students' attention,increasing students' cognitive income and cultivating students' interest in learning.According to the different teaching situation,the educational robot can serve as a learning tool,an assistant,a study company,and a learner's role in teaching.There will be more possible teaching methods with the combination of educational robot and English teachingThe purpose of this study is to apply educational robots to English teaching,to improve students' oral expression and cultivate interest in learning.Based on the content of English Teaching in PEP seventh-grade English the next volume of the book,this paper designs and implements the voice function of the educational robot and the body movements which can assist the voice expression with the NAO robot as the development platform.The specific content of the work is as follows:1)The role of the educational robot in English teaching This paper analyzes the different roles of the educational robot in general teaching,and the teaching scenarios adapted to those roles.According to the present characteristics of junior high school English teaching,this paper holds that English exercise under class is an effective means to improve oral English.Therefore,the role of the educational robot in English teaching is a learning company.2)The voice function design of educational robot.In view of the content,the voice function of the educational robot is divided into the word practice,the role playing dialogue and the free talk practice.and the frame of the robot and the learner's human-robot interaction system and the message transfer process are designed.3)The realization of free talk function based on rule matching.In order to improve the efficiency of the program execution,in view of the low vocabulary and simple structure of the English teaching content in junior middle school,this paper uses the method of rule matching to realize the free talk function,analyzes the characteristics of the sentence pattern,extracts basic dialogue rules,and designs the principles and logic of the matching of rules.4)The body movements design of the educational robot.Robot's body movements help to express emotional expression and promote interaction with learners.In this paper,the body movements of robots are divided into head movements,hand movements and color transformation of eyes.In the process of robot speech expression,the three partners above cooperate with each other to express the body movements that are consistent with the speech content.
