In China's English teaching,learners lack a practical language environment.They mainly contact English with texts,videos and other materials,while the Chinese materials account for the largest proportion.The first step for Chinese learners to learn English is through reading.In different kinds of English tests,there are relatively more reading comprehension questions.At the same time,their score is also larger,so teachers and students pay more attention to English reading ability.But in current English curriculum arrangement in junior high school,English reading has not been specifically set up as a course,and the reading teaching are often accompanied by a lot of grammar and vocabulary teaching.Therefore,the students generally lack the skills of English reading comprehension skills,and it is difficult to improve their understanding level.Although English reading teaching has been paid more attention to,the problem of English reading teaching has become very serious because of the exam oriented education and traditional teaching mode.With the progress of the times,multimedia technology gradually integrates into the school.The blackboard will gradually be replaced by the simple and clear PPT courseware.In recent years,there has been a new teaching resource in the field of educational research,that is micro lecture.The emergence of micro lecture has brought a new direction to the mode of education and teaching,and also provided teachers with a new way to solve the problem.However,there are not many researches on the micro lecture teaching model in the English class.Combined with relevant literature at home and abroad,the author analyzes and explores the influence and function of micro lecture on junior high school English teaching,and makes a practical study on the application of micro teaching in reading teaching.This paper aims to explore the influence of micro lecture on students' English reading achievement,the students' attitudes towards micro lecture and the value or significance of micro lecture to junior high school English reading teaching.The author selects two classes in Grade Eight of Xingfulu Middle School in Caidian District of Wuhan.The experiment lasts for a semester.The thesis is divided into six chapters,including the introduction and the conclusion.Chapter one is an introduction.It introduces the background,significance and purpose of the research,and introduces the whole structure of the paper.Chapter two is the literature review.It is mainly related to the theories of the research.Then it mainly expounds the definition of "micro lecture",and reviews the research achievements of the scholars at home and abroad in the course of micro lecture in the recent years.Chapter three is the preliminary analysis of the application of micro lecture to English reading teaching in junior high school.It analyzes the teaching situation and students' learning characteristics before the experiment.Chapter four is the research design.It points out the research question,the research object,and introduces the research methods,such as the questionnaire,the interview,the experiment and so on.The research steps are also elaboratedChapter five is the analysis of the research results.It analyzes the results of the questionnaire survey,the interview survey and the experiment.It also discusses the findings.Chapter six is the conclusion in which the result of the research is summarized.It elaborates the result:compared with the traditional English reading teaching ideas,micro lecture can more effectively stimulate students' interest in learning English reading,change the attitude towards English reading,improve students' English reading ability and English learning level.And the limitations of this study are also discussed.Finally,it points out the implications and suggestions for further research.
