Chinese grammar is the key point and difficulty of foreign students,and the complex sentences are one of the important contents of Chinese grammar.Both Chinese and Thai languages are also have complex sentences,but there are similarity and difference between them.So when Thai foreign students use Chinese complex sentences,there are also many errors.The author selects the thesis topic by considering the results of "A survey of the difficulty in Chinese complex sentences of Thai foreign students".The results of this survey indicates that most of Thai foreign students think the cause-effect complex sentences are the most difficult type of Chinese complex sentences.In addition,the scope of using complex sentences of elementary level foreign students is limited.Because they have not good command of Chinese complex sentence,so they often avoid using complex sentences.But intermediate and advanced foreign students have a good command of Chinese complex sentences;so the frequency of using complex sentences is relatively high.Therefore,this research taking the theory of Chinese complex sentences and the theory of second language acquisition as foundation to examine the acquisition situation on using marked cause-effect complex sentences of intermediate and advanced Thai foreign students.This research contains five chapters.The first chapter is Topic selection,research objects,predecessors' research results,theoretical basis and research methods.The second chapter;collects the natural corpus which mainly from the corpus of the intermediary language of Central China Normal University and ordinary homework of the Thai foreign students,also summed up the errors and explored the causes.The third chapter;using three types exam questions of test questionnaires to investigate the understanding and using of Chinese cause-effect complex sentences by Thai foreign students.Then make data statistical analysis of the test results.The fourth Chapter;examine the layout of cause-effect complex sentences in six textbooks with elementary,intermediate and advanced level.And propose suggestions for writing and teaching.The last chapter is conclusion.
