In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,complex sentences are the difficulty and focus of teaching.Naturally,it is no exception in Chinese teaching in Sri Lanka.According to the investigation of the sentence acquisition of Sri Lankan students,the cause-effect complex sentences are more difficult for students in Sri Lanka.Therefore,in order to understand the acquisition of cause-effect sentences of Sri Lankan students and find relevant solutions,the topic of this paper was selected.The research of this topic includes five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,introduces the research significance and research object of this paper,and the present situation of domestic and foreign research on complex sentences,and finally introduces the theories and research methods used in this paper.The second chapter examines the use and characteristics of cause-effect complex sentences in natural spoken language and written corpus,and then analyzes the causes of misclassification and identification of cause-effect complex sentences.The third chapter is a questionnaire survey to investigate the use of cause-effect complex sentences by students in non-natural situations.According to the results of the test questionnaire to analyze the appearance of causal complex sentences and the sequence of acquisition of complex sentences.The fourth chapter examines the situation of compilation of teaching materials,and selected "The Road to Success" elementary,intermediate,and advanced teaching materials for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.It analyzes and studies the causation of complex sentences in textbooks.A deep discussion on Chinese teaching materials and teaching of cause-effect complex sentences in Sri Lanka.The use of the situation in order to be able to give some advice on the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and the preparation of teaching materials.The fifth chapter is the conclusion of the paper.
