A Study Of Wang Anyi’s Shanghai Novels In 1990s

Shanghai is a shining and glamorous city in the history of Chinese literature.Since its birth,Shanghai has got a lot of attention and becomes the object of many writers.The writers experience Shanghai from different perspectives and create a series of excellent works of literature.In the 1990 s,Wang Anyi started her Shanghai story creation journey and she contributed to the prosperity of urban literature with her own efforts.This paper focuses on Wang Anyi’s novels about Shanghai in the 1990 s and analyzes Shanghai daily objects and citizens spirit in the works of I Love Bill,Songs of Endless Sorrow,Mei Tou.According to the studying,we obtain the clear vein of Wang’s writing about Shanghai as a whole and present the Shanghai world which Wang Anyi constructed.By describing Shanghai secular life and Shanghai women in her story to show the spirit of Shanghai in a unique way.In addition,Wang Anyi has Unique aesthetic pursuit in her work,such as the creation of nostalgic atmosphere,detail description of exquisite and the use of full knowledge Angle of view.Wang Anyi’s Shanghai writing has remarkable literary value.First of all,as a descendant of Haipai in contemporary China,Wang Anyi’s Shanghai writing inherits the writing tradition of the Haipai in the content.Secondly,Wang Anyi has developed the urban female literature and has made a new exploration of the female spirit in her works.Finally,Wang Anyi’s Shanghai writing does not stay on the surface of the secular life and she expresses her thinking of the social problems and the life value in working.We can see her modern humanistic care.However,her novels are not flawless and there are flaws in the language and image setting.
